About the Position

This position will work across the City of Ballarat outdoor pools including Eureka, Brown Hill, Black Hill and Buninyong pools providing life guarding services. You will be responsible for the supervision of aquatic users and ensuring their safety as well as being required to undertake some cleaning and general kiosk duties. Through high levels of customer service and communication this position will enhance the aquatic experience of the people of Ballarat.  

This position is a part time fixed term role between November 2021 and April 2022 and it is anticipated to be a minimum 16 hours per fortnight (with potential of additional shists up to 76 hours per fortnight where available). Roster will be based across a 7 days  week and includes public holidays.  

 Key Selection Criteria

  • Understanding appropriate response and action to emergency and/or first aid incidents.
  • Demonstrated understanding of reporting and responding to hazards and issues of safety in an aquatic facility environment.  
  • Knowledge and understanding of health and safety issues relevant to work activities and work area.
  • Availability to work to a variety of shifts on a flexible roster. Shifts occur between 6am – 8pm, seven (7) days per week
  • Qualifications:   
    • Current Lifeguard Accreditation from a Registered Training Provider  
    • Current Level 2 First Aid incorporating annual CPR (HLTAID003)  
    • Current Employee Working with Children Check  
    • Desirable anaphylaxis and asthma first aid (HLTAID004)  
    • Desirable advanced resuscitation (HLTAID007)
