The Role

We are looking for our newest team member to join us at Ballarat Botanical Gardens in an exciting specialist Nursery position. 

The engine room of the Ballarat Botanical Gardens, our Nursery produces & maintains more than 12,000 plants a year for our year-round conservatory displays, featuring six documented collections and Ballarat’s renown registered begonia collections. 

Working with a passionate team, you would help propagate, grow and maintain nursey collections and complimentary plants, and then bring them to life in our year-round, much visited conservatory displays.  

If you wish to showcase your design skills, our team also creates three unique Conservatory Floral Displays every year, including the Begonia Display, the centrepiece of Ballarat’s Begonia Festival.  

We are passionate about integrated pest management, nursery accreditation, work in a minimal chemical-use environment, and are actively involved in small scale indigenous plant conservation projects, and thrive on propagation of plants for our heritage listed gardens.
