- Permanent Part Time - 12 Hours per week
- Band 5 salary range between $37.69 and $43.03 per hour plus superannuation
The Role: An exciting job opportunity supporting youth participation including planning and delivery of Recreation and Social Connections programs in our outreach sites and other initiatives of the Youth Services team. This role will facilitate and promote young people to be active leaders in the community, providing opportunities to embed their voice, ideas and creativity in decision making processes with Council, the youth sector and the community About You: You will be energetic, creative, passionate and have experience or qualifications of working with young people in community and education environments to develop their skills and achieve their goals. Key Selection Criteria - Certificate IV in Youth Work, Social Work, Community Development or relevant experience in the Youth Development sector
- Well-developed written and verbal skills, including program planning, evaluation, budgeting, and report writing.
- Ability to support the coordination and facilitation of youth activities in a recreation or social connection environment.
- Demonstrated ability to form positive and productive relationships and networks with schools and community groups.
- An understanding of the role of Local Government in the provision of services to young people as well as knowledge of youth issues and the range of services available to young people.
- Knowledge and understanding of health and safety issues relevant to work activities and work area including an understanding and commitment to the Child Safe Standards, and Code of Ethical Practice for the Victorian Youth Sector.
- Demonstrated ability to champion, model and promote the corporate values.
