Kerbside Waste Collection Driver (Multiple)

  • Commencement salary of $80, 476 per annum inclusive of allowances plus superannuation
  • Up to 5 weeks leave

The City of Ballarat currently has vacancies within its Kerbside Waste Collection team, for Drivers contributing to the collection of Ballarat’s residential waste.

This is an ideal opportunity for suitably experienced, enthusiastic people with team-oriented values to join this dynamic team.

The successful applicants will be responsible for operating a current model waste compactor to collect general, recycling and organic waste from residential kerbsides.

This is a permanent, full-time position (Monday to Friday), with an annualised salary of $80,476.76 per annum inclusive of applicable allowances plus statutory superannuation.

Key Selection Criteria

  • A Victorian Heavy Vehicle Victorian Driver's Licence (HR) is a must have, with an exemplary driving record and demonstrated understanding and commitment to Fatigue Management.
  • Considerable experience with medium to heavy truck operation. 
  • Proven ability to provide high quality work within time constraints.
  • Proven high level of skill and appropriate background in the application and use of sideloader waste collection vehicles.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a positive member of a team.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of local government or transport works practices.
  • Sound understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
