Health Promotion Officer
  • An exciting opportunity exists for a Health Promotion Officer in our Engaged Communities unit
  • Temporary Part Time (24hrs per week) until end December 2025
  • Band 6 Salary range $82,923 to $89,577 per annum (pro rata) plus 11% super

About the position

The Health Promotion Officer is responsible to develop, deliver and evaluate health promotion programs and activities as part of the VicHealth Local Government Partnership, with the aim of improving the physical and mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in Ballarat.  

The Health Promotion Officer will also undertake stakeholder engagement, primarily with students, to ensure a collective impact approach to project development and to ensure children and young people are involved in decisions which affect their health and wellbeing. 

Key Selection Criteria 

  • Graduate or post graduate qualifications in health promotion or other relevant discipline. 
  • A sound understanding of and experience in developing, delivering and evaluating health promotion programs and initiatives.  
  • Demonstrated understanding of integrated health promotion principles including health equity, place-based approaches and the determinants of health. 
  • Demonstrated experience in project management including being able to effectively plan, manage and prioritise own work.  
  • Well-developed written, verbal and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise and engage with stakeholders and community.
