Building Design Standards Officer
  • Full time ongoing position with Monthly RDO
  • Band 7 Salary $92,012 to $101,890 per annum plus statutory superannuation
  • Newly Created Position

The Role

It will be your role to:

  • develop building design standards that reflect the business needs of the City of Ballarat considering various building types including libraries, leisure centres, community halls, sports pavilions etc;
  • to review specifications to ensure conformance to Facility Management Building Design Standards, and
  • to conduct milestone reviews and defect inspections for new construction and capital renewal projects. 

About You

Ideally you will have:

  • an extensive knowledge of building industry practises and processes,
  • a strong understanding of building components’ durability, life cycles and maintenance requirements,
  • experience in conducting building defect inspections,
  • a strong understanding of the relevant building codes. 

As well as excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to gain co-operation and assistance from other employees and the public.
