Gymnastics Assistant Coaches

The role: 

This position requires a positive, energetic, vibrant attitude and a willingness to learn and continuously improve.  The Gymnastics Assistant Coach position is a training position to give you the skills and knowledge to transition into the position of Gymnastics Coach. You will have experience and/or a drive to grow your skills in coaching children’s gymnastics classes; across all levels from beginner to advanced and a variety of age groups. You will communicate effectively with children, parents, staff and management. 

Our Gymnastics program has close to 900 enrolments from ages 8 weeks through to adults. In this role we will work with you to develop your skills in coaching with a focus on ages 4 years to 16 years with an aim to develop your skills across a 4-6 month period to get you qualified as a Gymnastics Coach; coaching your own groups under a supervisor.  

About You: 

You will have strong customer service skills and a strong desire to exceed member expectations, with the ability to work both alongside a mentor coach and autonomously on the gym floor, as well as part of a team to ensure an efficient flow through the gymnastics hall each night. You will be required to take on shift hours which may include some or all of the following; mornings, afternoons, late evenings and/or weekends.  

Key Selection Criteria   

  • Demonstrated experience to work as part of a team.  
  • Demonstrated experience instructing a class of participants.  
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills in particular interactions with children.  
  • Knowledge and understanding of health and safety issues relevant to work activities and work area.  
  • Current Level two First Aid certificate.  
  • Current CPR Certificate.  
  • Minimum Current online GA Fundamental course completed. 
  • Enrolled into GA Fundamental coaching course. 
  • Current National Police Check. 
  • Current Working with Children Check. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of health and safety issues relevant to work activities and work area.
