Located in Ballarat, Victoria's largest inland city. Just 75 minutes west of Melbourne, Ballarat is a melting pot of art, culture, food and attractions set against an iconic heritage backdrop.

 

The role 

Reporting to the Director Infrastructure and Environment, this position of Executive Manager Property and Facilities provides efficient and effective delivery of property and facilities services in accordance with City of Ballarat strategy and agreed service levels.

 

The Executive Manager Property and Facilities will provide leadership and direction to staff delivering property services and facility management across:  

  • Public building maintenance
  • Facilities management
  • Property management

 

About you  

The City of Ballarat is seeking a highly motivated and experienced people leader. Ideally, the preferred candidate will also have a strong stakeholder management and customer service experience together with demonstrated experience in project and contract management. You will also display well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise and clearly communicate with the community, professionals and elected members. 

 

Key Selection Criteria

  • Qualifications and experience as listed in the position description.
  • Proven management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively develop and manage budgets.
  • High level written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, presentation and consultation skills.
  • Ability to work with, lead, motivate and manage a diverse team of professionals, associated organisations and individuals including the ability to develop and maintain co-operative working relationships.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently plan, organise and prioritise work to achieve organisational objectives.
  • Commitment to effective management of health and safety issues especially relevant to this role.
