Located in Ballarat, Victoria's largest inland city. Just 75 minutes west of Melbourne, Ballarat is a melting pot of art, culture, food and attractions set against an iconic heritage backdrop. Reporting to the Director Infrastructure and Environment, this position of Executive Manager Major Projects will support delivery of projects aligned to the Council Plan through leadership of a multidisciplinary team of project managers and project officers. - Sebastopol Community Hub
About you The City of Ballarat is seeking a highly motivated and experienced people leader. Ideally, the preferred candidate will also have a thorough knowledge of project and program management principles and practices together with demonstrated experience leading a team of professional project managers. You will also display well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise and clearly communicate with the community, professionals and elected members. Key Selection Criteria - Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management or other relevant discipline, coupled with senior or middle management experience, preferably in local government.
- Experience leading a team of professional project managers.
- Thorough knowledge of project and program management principles and practices.
- Demonstrated project pipeline management and resource planning competency.
- Extensive experience planning and delivering community infrastructure projects with budgets in excess of $10m.
- Demonstrated ability to use discretion and judgement in a complex business and political environment.
- Extensive project documentation, report writing, budgeting, cost control and financial reporting experience.
