The Role Reporting directly to the Head of Executive and Civic Services, the Coordinator Town Hall Operations performs the key role of supervising the functions of the Town Hall operations team. This role will lead the delivery of effective coordination and facilitation across all activities within the iconic Ballarat Town Hall. As a key role within the Civic and Executive Services Unit, this position will collaborate to deliver high quality civic functions, business and community bookings, historical tours and engagement. This position is responsible for the overall experience management of day-to-day operations of the Ballarat Town Hall, including the provision of excellent customer service fostering supportive positive and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This position has an annualised salary range from $106,661 to $118,112 per annum plus statutory superannuation. About You To be considered for this unique and exciting opportunity, the City of Ballarat is seeking an experienced professional with a track record in events and venue management ranging from customer service and detailed technical support through to the provision and delivery of high-quality hospitality services. The successful applicant will demonstrate sound experience in managing and leading a multidisciplined team, coupled with exceptional stakeholder relations skills including the ability to manage complex stakeholder engagement. A keen passion and knowledge across tiers of government, historical landmarks and collections supported by sound business acumen is essential. Key Selection Criteria - Qualifications in business, venue management or related discipline coupled with some relevant practical application within industry.
- Proven leadership experience with strong staff motivational skills.
- Demonstrated high level technical skills across various systems and platforms including Microsoft 365 as well as a detailed understanding of AV set ups.
- Demonstrated experience with venue and events management.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral, and proven ability to liaise and communicate effectively, and to obtain cooperation across management, staff, and stakeholders.
- Financial Management experience including preparing budgets and monitoring activity within budget parameters.
- Demonstrated experience in providing administrative and project management support.
- Demonstrated experience in a government setting with an understanding of local government.
- Knowledge of and passion for historical landmarks and collections.
