The Role This Business Support Officer position is a key role in the Civic and Executive Services team, delivering an executive support function Mayor and Councillors of the City of Ballarat along with the provision of quality civic events. Key position objectives are: - To provide high level assistance and civic support to the Mayor and Councillors within a diverse, and politically sensitive environment.
- To provide quality service to internal and external stakeholders for the office of Civic Support.
- To assist in the provision of quality civic functions and delivery of citizenship ceremonies.
- The ability to work as a cohesive and contributing team member, within a multidisciplined team.
This position is a fixed term full-time maternity leave opportunity through to May 2024. The salary range is from $69,531 to $79,372 per annum plus statutory superannuation. The position will have access to a monthly rostered day off (RDO). About You To be considered for this exciting opportunity, the City of Ballarat is seeking an experienced administrative professional, with high levels of professionalism and experience with managing complex enquiries. You will have demonstrable experience in fast paced administrative roles, excellent customer service skills, including the ability to manage challenging customers. Previous experience within a government agency or political environment would be advantageous. Key Selection Criteria - Qualifications and experience as listed within the position description.
- Demonstrated ability to champion, model and promote the corporate values.
- Extensive experience in a fast-paced executive support / administrative role dealing with complex service requirements.
- Written and verbal communication skills of a high standard.
- Extensive administrative skills in order to undertake correspondence, word processing and the maintenance of unit records.
- Previous experience in developing, implementing and maintaining office information systems and procedures.
- Excellent time management skills, ability to meet strict deadlines and attention to detail.
- Knowledge and understanding of health and safety issues relevant to work activities and work area.
