About the role

Are you looking for a diverse role where you will interact with a wide range of programs and individuals that will ensure you finish every day with a sense of achievement?  As Manager Community Child Health you will provide leadership and management to a large and diverse maternal and child health and immunisation team at Council.

You will be part of the maternal and child health service providing a range of universal and targeted services including health promotion and education through family support, health surveillance, early identification, referral and intervention for identified health concerns in children and their families from birth to six years of age.  The program has well developed and maintained partnerships in the early years sector creating a connected and resilient community in line with Council’s vision.

The immunisation service provides a comprehensive program to infants, children and with the aim of minimising the risk of vaccine preventable diseases.

About you

As a member of the Family, Youth & Children’s Services leadership team you will contribute to the early childhood sector through the development of partnerships and collaborative working arrangements, both locally and at a State-wide level.

You will also bring the following:

  • strong leadership and strategic skills by your achievements in a similar role
  • excellent interpersonal skills with experience in managing a large team of professionals
  • sound background in financial and business management to execute service objectives including financial, quality and time related targets
  • a knowledge of child and family health and wellbeing and an understanding of the directions of State and Federal government policies in these areas.
