Maternal & Child Health Nurse - Sleep & Settling Program

We are currently seeking a vibrant nurse to perform a blended role coordinating the Sleep and Settling Program that supports parents and caregivers who are experiencing sleep and settling concerns with children from birth to school age.

Sleep and Settling Outreach Consultation Program

  • This part of the role will see you coordinate an evidence-informed Sleep and Settling Outreach Consultation Program to support parents and care givers to be confident and capable in their decision making related to their children, encompassing MCH referral, intake, clinical documentation and evaluation processes to ensure guidelines are being met
  • On a day-to-day to basis you will be conduct home visits and telehealth and additional outreach work as required to assist client goals.   

Sleep and Settling Information Group

  • This part of the role will suit a MCH nurse who enjoys health education with parent groups and the opportunity to share and promote sleep and settling information across a range of ages.
  • There is a component of health promotion strategies with community agencies and liaison with media and local early year’s networks, along with administration responsibilities to coordinate the online bookings system and documentation in CDIS.

About you

This is an exciting career development opportunity for a positive and compassionate registered MCH nurse who may currently work in a Universal and/or Enhanced team, to further develop and sustain the Sleep and Settling program to continue to meet program goals.

Applicants with previous experience, training and background working with vulnerability and trauma-informed care models will be highly considered. Training in Sleep and Settling will be provided by the Department (if not already completed) and it is expected the successful applicant is to complete this.  

The position is 0.8 FTE, however we are flexible and happy to negotiate hours of work with the successful applicant. Some weekend and after-hours work may be required to improve capture of interested parents.
