Our new ICT Core Systems Support Officer will be responsible for the effective management and functioning of the Councils Core systems including managing system software releases, patches, systems monitoring, administration and limited development.

This role will be responsible for effectively:

  • Under direction and guidance provide efficient and effective ongoing support to the various Core Systems utilised in Council
  • Provide limited Database Administration for Council databases being responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of the Council’s databases by utilising expert advice from support organisations
  • To implement best practice services incorporating planning, design, provisioning, and operational support to all Council user groups for Council Approved Applications
  • Consults with Council departments on Approved Applications in regards to implementation and uses as well as third party applications that may be involved in any implementation.
  • Manages and supports Approved Applications implementations from initial installation to maintenance and further custom design.
  • Provides support for all Core Systems under the directions of the Core Systems Team Leader and the Core Systems Application Specialists.

This position will work closely with a wide range of internal stakeholders in the operation and support of the Council Core systems to ensure that business needs are met, and continuous improvement is achieved

Your key duties will include:

  • Provide Level 2 and 3 end user support for Core Software Systems
  • Administration of Council’s Core systems and the provision of end user training.
  • Coordinate the delivery of key infrastructure services including development, prioritisation and delivery of maintenance for Core Systems
  • Liaise with external consultants on matters related to the ERP and Asset Management
  • Providing expert/specialist advice, support and assistance to the internal stakeholders on the Councils Core Systems
  • Developing and implementing effective communication strategies within projects to facilitate informed decisions and responsiveness

Key experience/skills:

  • 3+ years of experience in a senior level Support / Development technician role with strong and successful technical lead experience.
  • Proactive and highly organised, with strong time management and planning skills
  • Able to meet tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure
  • Experience at advising key stakeholders at senior level
